about

The Wasteland works as an opening track to The Suicide Machine Anthems, because it contains elements of some of the first sound recordings I had ever made along with one of the first guitar riffs I'd ever written. The harsh distorted vocals on the track detail an actual dream I had about a world war. It was nighttime, and my home town was being bombed into dust by planes. I remember amidst the fire and smoke and chaos feeling incredibly calm and making ash angels, because the ash was falling like snow. At the time death seemed inevitable and the world had become one giant vast wasteland, but the thought that mankind would cease to be brought a lot of comfort.
