Requiem is the first instrumental track on the album, it's meant to be an actual requiem for me in the event that I pass on, I wrote the album at a lower point in my life, and it felt appropriate. I wanted to mix traditional orchestration sounds with a mechanical drum beat march and several conflicting rhythms representing the mechanics of life and death. I also included a background noise loop using a guitar for noise effects, the same loop appears in the background of The Wasteland, and Golgotha, and in each case it's altered in some way, but it fits as a sonic motif.
